Delivering Solutions for the Built Environment

Wednesday 6th & Thursday 7th March 2024

Digital Construction Asia 2024 (DCA24), a featured industry profile within Geo Connect Asia 2024 (GCA24) returns to Singapore on the 6th & 7th March 2024 to build on its position as the region’s leading international show for sharing the latest knowledge in the AEC marketplace and acts as a platform providing a meeting place for the introduction of the latest solutions for the built environment.

With theme of Delivering solutions for the built environment, DCA24 focuses on Construction 4.0, showcasing digitalised processes and improved workflows across projects by combining ground-based equipment with aerial capabilities and improved connectivity through the application of AI, BIM, block- chain, cloud, IoT, visualisation and associated technologies.

Join us to discuss digital construction technologies in today's world, the value of effective collaboration in construction, mitigating risks to critical infrastructure assets, and mastering the process in critical infrastructure planning.

Understanding the value of effective collaboration in construction

Join this panel discussion with industry experts on why collaboration is so important in construction and understanding the value of effective collaboration for successful construction projects, including avoiding expensive rework and duplicate work, improving safety, and keeping budgets on-target and within budget. This session will also highlight real-world examples of successful collaboration in the construction industry.

3:30pm - 4:10pm

Implementing a Digital City: Challenges, Solutions, and Lessons Learned

Join us for an insightful panel discussion delving into the real-world journey of implementing digital city projects in Asia. Our esteemed panelists [[ from Hong Kong Lands Department (LandsD), Singapore Land Authority (SLA) and AECOM ]] will share their practical experiences, offering a comprehensive exploration of the challenges encountered, innovative solutions devised, and invaluable lessons gleaned throughout the implementation of projects such as Hong Kong 3D Digital Map and Underground Utilities Information System. From navigating technological complexities to overcoming regulatory hurdles and defining overall governance frameworks, this discussion promises to illuminate the intricacies as well as the benefits of digital city implementation and inspire actionable insights for future endeavors.

THURSDAY 7TH MARCH 2024

10:45am - 11:30am

Mitigating risks to critical infrastructure assets

The capital costs associated with new infrastructure projects demands a rigorous approach towards long term maintenance and monitoring . These considerations need to be factored in during the initial construction phase, especially with regard to automating inspection procedures; these can include built in sensors, visual inspection systems drone & satellite surveillance and data acquisition programmes.

Key questions include:

How projects should be designed with automated inspection programmes in view?
What are the latest monitoring technologies available and how can these be integrated into existing maintenance programmes?
How is the workflow best managed to ensure on time and on budget maintenance?
What are the skill sets required for the seamless phasing in of new solutions?
How can improvements in monitoring capabilities assist in extending the lifecycle of individual assets?

11:45am - 12:30pm

Mastering the processes in critical infrastructure planning

From road and rail to ports and airports large projects demand assiduous attention to cost control and seamless workflow integration between multiple parties.
With a fast flow of new technologies looking to fast forward the digitalisation agenda

The session looks to discuss:
*Planning for roles for new technologies including AI and Quantum computing.
*The impact of digital twins and visualisation in enabling the execution of large-scale projects
*Ways of executing data exchange between multiple stakeholders and how to incorporate ever changing technologies and applications.
*Creating the right framework, synergies, and matching skills to facilitate the introduction of new technologies.
