Land administration and management is fundamental to economic growth and social development. The United Nations Expert Group on Land Administration and Management (EG-LAM) has developed the Framework for Effective Land Administration (FELA) to guide countries towards effective land administration. Increasingly, there is also recognition that geospatial information and tools are playing a significant role to effectively administer and manage land and its relation to the seas. At its tenth session in 2020, the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM), in adopting the FELA, appreciated that the framework was fully aligned with the United Nations Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (UN-IGIF) as an overarching policy guide supporting the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for both developing and developed countries, and noted that transparent and secure land and property rights for all was a crucial component for an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable society.
Join us in this one-day seminar in which local and international experts from the government, academia and the industry will share their experiences and views in using geospatial information and tools for better land administration and management.
